About 30 Minutes

In 2013, a group of photographers from all walks of life, across the continents joined together to form the blog group 30 Minutes in the Life

What is 30 Minutes in the Life?

In the life of a photographer, whose art is created in tiny fractions of a second, thirty minutes is a sustained thought. Thirty minutes, the length of a child’s ballet class, a quick sauce’s simmer, a commute, is long enough to witness change and short enough to be over before you know it. We offer you here our monthly results of thirty minutes of watching and waiting and recording, of rendering permanent those fractions of a second that slip past in the time it takes to watch a television show. Thirty minutes in the life.

Since 2013, photographers have come and gone but the core group has stayed together. Recently, in 2017, there were changes to the structure of the group and decisions had to be made as to whether to carry on with the group or to abandon it.  The core group decided to continue blogging.  We love learning about each other, we have watched how photographers have grown in their area of expertise, we have watched our children grow through this blog and we look forward to the days ahead.

2019 brings more change and we are excited to add seven new ladies to the group while sadly saying goodbye to a few whose commitments require more of their time.  We are looking forward to learning more about the lives of the new ladies.
