30 Minutes in the Life: December 2020

Happy New Year to you all. I hope that this year will be better for you than last year. I also hope that there will be some kind light at the end of the tunnel. Until there is, hang in the and hang out with us when you can.

So, I am sure you are wondering why December 2020 when it is now January. Our date to go live fell directly after Christmas weekend and no one was ready to put a blog together, so we postponed it for a week.

As I reflected on the beginning of the New Year, this year I have challenged myself to look for the positive in all situations. Often it is hard, but as I wrapped up last year, I realized that there were so many little things that we glossed over, that were something to celebrate. I would encourage you to do the same – look for all the positives that this year has to offer. Embrace them and relish them, because they will carry you through the challenging moments that we may experience in the coming year.

This week we have a number of bloggers joining us and I look forward to all that they have to offer.

30 Minutes in the Life: November 2020

One more day and it is the end of the year. Who would have thought in April that we would still be in the same situation, if not worse, than where we were at the beginning of the year. Many of us are still working from home. The year has been long but it has also flown by. When the whole Covid started, it was a crazy shift to a new normal. Now normal has been going and it continues to. We keep blogging, although it has been challenging without doubt. There were times we could not get out to blog, other times we just had no desire to pick up a camera and take a few shots. This is what I love about blog groups. Our commitment to blogging makes us go looking for something to blog

So for the month of November go and see what some of us have got up to.

It’s a small group but I love that we have managed to get out and get some photos. I hope that you are safely managing to do what you need to do. As we head into the last month of the year please stay well, stay safe. Before we know it Christmas will be upon. Since this is the last blog before Christmas, I will take the time, on behalf of the blog team, to wish you a very Merry Christmas. Even though Christmas may be quieter than normal I hope that it will still be a time of blessing.

30 Minutes in the Life: September 2020

It’s September friends, and it appears that we are into fall. I am sure up north things are starting to cool down, and the leaves will soon start to change color. Down south, it is still hot. This has definitely been an interesting year so far. It appears that we ran out of names for the hurricanes and we are now into the Greek alphabet. It has definitely been a busy season.

I hope you are able to get out a bit more now and go for walks, grab a bite to eat and see friends. Today we did just that. We headed out to meet friends in the park for a barbecue. The weather was good, the barbecues were social distanced and it was nice to be able to just have another voice in our lives even for a short space of time.

From the photos the blog contributors have shared below, life is slowly starting to happen again.

30 MINUTES IN THE LIFE: August 2020

How are you all hanging in this far in the year? I will confess to being tired of being stuck at home and not getting out and about. My desire to go out and take photographs has been a struggle. Wearing a mask everywhere is a pain, but a necessary pain. Life as we know it is so different.

But on the flip side there is so much to appreciate. We can spend time with our families. So far we have stayed healthy. The weather has been for the most part really good. We can enjoy the back garden, all the critters that deign to visit our garden. We can walk in our neighborhoods.

For those who are now parents, educators and part of the workforce, we are thinking of you. It is challenging to have to be doing everything, when we are not really equipped to multitask in this manner. Hang in there!

Talking weather our hearts go out to all the folk affected by Hurricane Laura that hit the gulf coast this week. I hope that all of our followers are safe and have no damages to their property.

Once again the blog team have put together 30 minutes in their lives. We get the privilege of living vicariously through their lives as well. I hope you enjoy what they have to share.
